Avril Lavigne looked quite the punk artist rather than a designer as she sported her new partly shaven, pink and green streaked hair do at the New York Fashion Week.
Avril Lavigne showed the world yet again that she's a pop star first before a designer. The singer's punky partly shaven, pink and green streaked hair do was quite the attention grabber at the New York Fashion Week on Monday.
"Tonight I got a little wild with my hair dye in my hotel room," Lavigne told Us Weekly. "I've always dyed my hair and had fun with pinks and greens, but this evening I was celebrating Fashion Week, here in New York, and the fact that I'm having a runway show, which is a major deal for me and means a lot."
"I just got dye happy and dyed my whole hair blond and then went crazy with these colors and studs," she added. "I actually had pink fingers, but I spent so long washing them."
After the sudden and surprising announcement about her engagement to Chad Kroeger, in late August, Lavigne spoke to the magazine about her upcoming wedding to Nickelback front man.
"I've been thinking about it; I haven't come to a decision on themes yet, but I'm really excited to start planning and even more excited about the wedding dress," Lavigne said. "I have a lot of ideas and I'm trying to figure out which direction to go."
Reportedly, Lavigne's 14 carat engagement ring is said to be worth $350,000 at an estimate.
"A pear shape diamond set in platinum is a nod to vintage glamour and individuality -- perfect for a rocker like Avril," jewelry expert Michael O'Connor tells Us Weekly. "The half-moon diamonds are also rare since they would have to be specially cut to fit on either side of the center diamond. The center diamond is approximately 10 carats, with an additional 4 carats of total side diamonds."
Apart from debuting her new hairstyle, the "Complicated" singer also showcases her New Abbey Dawn Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the fashion event.

Given the risks that “Elementary” has been taking with the Sherlock Holmes mythology, converting not one but two main characters from men into women, it seems surprising that they chose to keep Sherlock British.
