Katie Holmes is the new face of the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics as the first ever celebrity representative, the makeup brand confirmed Thursday.

The newly single actress will be featured in Bobbi Brown's ads starting 2013 spring.

Brown will also serve as the lead makeup artist at the fashion show of Holmes & Yang in New York Fashion Week Sunday. The fashion brand was founded by Katie Holmes and her stylist Jeanne Yang.

The partnership "all came together eight weeks ago, when Katie and I were introduced by a mutual friend," Brown told WWD.

“We just connected. We clicked. We’re both from the Midwest, we’re both entrepreneurs, we’re both working moms,” Brown said.

“We had a really great time together.”

For the appearance of Holmes' brand in New York Fashion Week, Brown said, “I told her, 'I would love to do the makeup,' so we decided to collaborate and then organically it was just like, 'oh my God, would you ever consider,' and she said yes,” Brown said.

“Katie Holmes epitomizes the modern ‘Bobbi woman’… I think of her as the modern day Ali McGraw, who I have always admired,” Bobbi Brown said in a statement.

According to Brown, Holmes was handpicked for her natural beauty and presence, not due to her recent high-profile divorce from Tom Cruise.

“Katie is a classic natural beauty, entrepreneur, and mother. When I met her, I thought she was a natural fit for my brand, and felt an instant connection with her.”

“I don’t necessarily see her with red lips and smoky eyes, but that’s not my style,” Brown told TODAY.
“My style is natural, pretty, wearable, and she’s the perfect iconic face.”

 “I didn’t hire a celebrity. I hired a woman who I think is really cool, who is down to earth, who sparkles when she enters a room, and she photographs really well,” Brown told TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie on Friday.
“She’s beautiful and she’s relatable.”

Katie Holmes and Bobbie Brown seem to be mutually in love. Holmes praised the makeup line that was founded in 1991.

"It is makeup that is very accessible and makes you feel pretty,” Holmes said.

“Sometimes it is just a lipstick or a blush that makes you feel like you can do what you need to do. Makeup is powerful and I am thrilled to be a part of this brand.”

"Makeup makes me feel great. It makes me feel glamorous and when I'm feeling tired it makes me feel people are buying the lie that I'm not," Holmes said.

In her post-divorce career makeover, Katie Holmes is reentering the fashion industry steadily. While her weight loss may have been the result of the stress from her divorce with Tom Cruise, the slender figure of Holmes is shaping her into a runway model. The 5'9" beauty is estimated to weigh around 100 pounds, which is "way too low" according to nutritional expert Majid Ali, says Radar Online.

However, the mother of 6-year-old Suri Cruise seems to be regaining a healthy mindset, despite the overwhelming media coverage of her personal life.

"I have a lot of feelings about the press," Holmes told WWD in a recent interview.

"There are a lot of people with much bigger problems and who are less fortunate. I try to keep it all in perspective."
