Nicki Minaj Goes Against Anna Wintour and Supports Mitt Romney

Nicki Minaj recently revealed her shocking political standpoint. Unlike other famous rappers who support President Barack Obama, Minaj sees the future of America in the hands of campaign rival Mitt Romney.

"I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy bitches is f*cking up the economy," declares Minaj on Lil Wayne's newly released mixtape Dedication 4. Minaj's surprising support for the Republican Party has left many with mixed feelings about the rapper.

Fellow rapper Talib Kweli, who happens to support social and political awareness through his music, believes that Minaj's declaration is all for publicity. "I doubt Nicki seriously supports Romney. Her lyrics ain't political. She just wants y'all to talk about her & she winning cuz it's working!" he tweeted. He also wrote, "Just heard a dude on Hot97 say he won't let his daughter listen to Nicki Minaj cuz she endorses Romney. Really? That's what it took? Lol."

Minaj may be hunting for attention. Back in June, the "Super Bass" rapper suggested that President Obama's healthcare legislation should have gone further and granted free healthcare to all. She tweeted, "I just don't understand why people have to worry about their 'medical bills' while they're on their DEATH BEDS Mr. President."  She also added, "That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do?"

It's interesting that she releases this verse just a week after the Republican National Convention. If people do take Minaj's viewpoint seriously, the party could catch heat for the "lazy bitches" comment. The Romney campaign is already dealing with criticism because of Clint Eastwood's kooky (and probably senile) speech.

It's a wonder what Anna Wintour may think. Minaj has idolized the fashion leader since her "come-up" days and has vocalized her desire to be on the cover of American Vogue. As soon as Wintour discovered Minaj she embraced the trendy rapstress inviting her to do exclusive performances and up-scale events. The pair has even become front row seat neighbors during Fashion Week. Fashion Week and the presidential election are the hot topics of the moment; Wintour and Minaj's front row chit chat is sure to be limited this season.

Wintour is a firm Obama supporter. Vogue's head honcho will host multiple fundraisers for President Obama's reelection campaign (she has already hosted two so far). The busy fashionable politica will bring her reelection efforts with her to all the cities of Fashion Week. She plans to have a fundraising dinner on September 19 in London with a $15000 a head price tag; guests will dine at Mark's Club with Tom Ford and David Plouffe.  The following fundraiser will be in Paris but more will be Fashion Week themed. The event is listed as "Paris Fashion Week Reception with Anna Wintour" and will take place on October 1 at the old Kenzo house. The reception tickets are priced at $2,500 and dinner costs $10,000. This is one exclusive event Minaj surely won't be invited to.
