During a weekend with her beau Kanye West at his Made in America Festival concert, Kim Kardashian was feeling very hip-hop and donned an Aaliyah inspired hairstyle.
The late R&B and hip-hop princess, Aaliyah, was known for her side swoop sleek hairstyle that covered one eye. Kardashian attempted the look with her light brown tinted locks. Alongside the photo of a dramatic side swoop hairdo, the reality star captioned "Aaliyah hair today."

Of course, the photo received plenty of mixed reviews. Twitter and Instagram users flooded Kardashian's feed with strong opinions. Many found her comparison highly offensive while a few found her hairstyle a nice homage to the late legend. There were also some commenters that believe West is the reason behind her new love for all things hip-hop; she even tweeted about having a "friendship" with the recently deceased hip-hop heavyweight Chris Lighty. Below are what the online critics had to say:
"Kanye done changed your life woman" - Twitter user
"Ew do not compare yourself to an amazing, beautiful talented singer/actress who is a Angel!! #NoComparison" -Twitter user
"Can't believe she compared herself to Alliyah such a damn shame" - Instagram user
"Are you comparing yourself to Aaliyah? That's so offensive!!" - Instagram user
"her hair dont look.nothing like aaliyahs" -Instagram user
"Seriously? Don't ever compare yourself to a classic." - Instgram user
"Wow u look so much like aaliyah" - Instagram user
West seemed to like his lady's hairstyle. No word on if he actually thinks it compares to Aaliyah's.
You be the judge.
