Lance Armstrong isn't the only one losing his titles.
A year after being exposed for making racist and anti-Semitic comments, designer John Galliano is stripped of his Legion of Honour award.
Galliano was named Chevalier of Legion of Honour - the highest honor available in the order - at the Élysée Palace on June 23, 2010 for his services to the fashion industry. Until today, Galliano was among some of most esteemed fashion leaders Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs and Sonia Rykiel who are all recipients of the coveted award.

French president Francois Hollande's (who serves as the grand master of the Order) announcement of the dismissal is a result of the designer's conviction last year.
Galliano was also fired from his position as creative director of Christian Dior after being found guilty making the racist and anti-Semitic slurs -- he has since been succeeded by former Jil Sander designer, Raf Simons, who is finding much success in his new role.
The designer blamed his transgression on addiction to alcohol and drugs. Galliano was charged with "public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity", and was given suspended fines totaling 6,000 euros (£4,800; $7,500) over the incident, BBC reports. The charges were made in response to incidents on October 2010 and February 2011 at La Perle café in the Marais district of Paris. Galliano berated museum curator Geraldine Bloch about being Jewish and spewed vicious racial slurs at her Asian friend. The most notorious incident was the video leak of a drunk Galliano praising Hitler.
Since his downfall, the designer has kept a low profile. He is allegedly planning on moving to Los Angeles.
