Despite what we previously thought, we might see the first "Star Wars: Episode VII" trailer before the end of the year. A new report from John Williams Fan Network claims director J.J. Abrams sent composer John Williams the trailer on October 20:

[Williams] has already written new "Star Wars" music to accompany this trailer. This new trailer music will feature new music and will be recorded on November 15 in LA with full orchestra. Still determining if the score will be recorded in London due to advanced age of composer/conductor. 14 hour flight to LA not too kind on 82 year old. This is all a secret and this message will be deleted shortly.

If the trailer is complete by the end of November, we could end up seeing it in theaters sometime in December. ScreenCrush thinks "Into the Woods" is a likely candidate, and we're inclined to agree. The only other film we can see having a large enough pull to match up with "Episode VII" is "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies", and considering "Into the Woods" is another Disney property, we'd say it has the advantage.

Plus, we'd bet there are plenty of people who would be willing to fork over the price of a ticket just to get a first look at "Episode VII". If that's not a way to boost "Into the Woods'" opening weekend take, we don't know what is.

Would you go to see "Into the Woods" just to check out the "Episode VII" trailer?

"Star Wars: Episode VII" hits theaters December 18, 2015. Read the film's latest news HERE.
