Jessica Chastain lends her graceful features to Yves Saint Laurent's newest fragrance, "Manifesto". The actress has been announced as the face of the new fragrance on Friday August 17.

The 35-year-old actress is the ultimate YSL girl. In an interview with WWD, Chastain recounts the first time she ever sprayed on a YSL scent.  She was 12 years old when she first wore "Opium"; her aunt gave her a half-used bottle of the addictive scent and Chastain has been hooked ever since.  "It made me feel glamorous; it made me feel grown-up," the actress gushed. From a second-hand bottle of designer perfume to having her own face on the ads of one, Chastain enhances her celebrity and increases her style points.

Nicolas Winding Refn shot the print ads and directed the accompanying fashion film which features the actress playing an artist. In the print ads, the fiery redhead stares sultrily into the camera as bold purple paint covers her hands and drips to her arms. "Every person looks at a painting and has their own emotional reaction to it, their own interpretation," Jessica told WWD "It's the same with perfume. You smell something, you have your own emotional reaction. There are many layers to a painting, many ideas - and the same with a perfume."

The purple paint refers to the color of the fragrance's packaging. "Manifesto" is encased in an hour-glass shaped bottle which resembles a feminine shape. A faceted purple jewel wraps around the center of the bottle as if it were a belt.

"Manifesto" is the latest fragrance launch from YSL Beauté. The scent is layered with woodsy and floral notes of jasmine, lily of the valley, blackcurrant, vanilla, cedar, tonka bean, and sandalwood.

Stephan Bezy, international general manger of YSL Beauté at L'Oréal, believes that the brand's it-girl is the perfect choice. "She has the luminosity, charm, grace and power, the audacity as well, (to) embody the fragrance. She's really an Yves Saint Laurent woman," Bezy said of Chastain.

The actress has already become a red carpet favorite among stylists, editors, critics, and designers. With her flawless head-to-toe style choices, Chastain makes any designer look stunning. Now that she's part of the YSL family, the actress looks forward to donning the house's designs by its new designer Hedi Slimane. One of Chastain's favorite red carpet looks was a vintage YSL dress she wore to the Toronto Film Festival.  "It's one of my favorites because it was so chic. Now I have an in at YSL to wear the clothes."
