Before beginning a week-long publicity circuit which includes "The Late Show", the "Tonight Show" and "America's Got Talent", Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas hired celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson to add some flair to her hair.

The grateful Douglas tweeted a photo of her leaving Gibson's studio. "@tedgibson Is AWESOME!!! LOVE HIM SOO MUCH!!! ❤❤xoxo!" the excited teen wrote.

Douglas made her makeover debut on Thursday. She visited "America's Got Talent" with a center-parted hairstyle with long wavy locks. The sleek and silky 'do is a major change from her ultra-gelled up ponytail, which has caused her much flack. Despite her groundbreaking achievement as being the first-ever African-American female Olympic gymnast to win all-around title, many critics just could not accept the champion's hairstyle and left hurtful comments on Facebook and Twitter.

Douglas brushed off the haters but was still obviously affected by the criticism. The Olympic champ regains her confidence with the help of the celebrity hairstylist. Gibson has dressed the tresses of some of Hollywood's most glamorous stars including Angelina Jolie, Gabrielle Union, and Anne Hathaway. He also appears on the style reality series "What Not to Wear."

Of course, now critics are finding a problem with her highly publicized makeover. All in all, Douglas remains a winner. The 16-year-old Olympic gymnast is rolling in $100 million in endorsements and has gained a positive celebrity for herself. Did you know the letters in "Douglas" also spell out "USA Gold"? The girl's a star no matter what her hair looks like.

What do you think of Gabby's new 'do?
