Rosie Huntington Whitely has recently designed a collection of luxury lingerie for a British Retail Chain, Marks & Spencer.
After nearly a decade of modeling for different lingerie brands, model turned actress Rosie Huntington Whitely has decided to have her own range of lingerie. The Elle cover superstar has collaborated with Marks & Spencer to design a 33-pieces collection of luxury lingerie that will be in stores come September.
Huntington-Whitely is all excited about her debut as a lingerie designer. "I have a solid understanding of what makes beautiful lingerie and how good quality lingerie should make you feel," she told ELLE. "So working on designing this line with Marks & Spencer has been an exciting and fulfilling experience for me to say the least."
The collection took a year to be completed and has been titled 'Rosie for Autograph collection' The collection includes lingerie sets, French knickers and a kimono-style robe.
'I wanted the collection to feel exquisite, elegant and feminine,' Huntington-Whiteley said. I love everything about lingerie; I've always had a thing for it. It's completely feminine, it's something for women, it's ours, it's our little secret."
"I think that we've struck a really great balance between it being young and modern whilst still being classic and sexy but it's feminine, and I hope people enjoy it in that way," she added.
Huntington-Whitely has chosen shaded of rose and rose motifs as the theme of her collection. According to the newly turned designer, she wants the designs to "feel romantic and sensual whilst being sophisticated and suiting every skin color". Huntington-Whiteley said. "I wanted every feature of the bra to stand out and correlate and to have the handwriting of a rose."
The Autograph line is the latest step in a lifelong preoccupation with fashion. 'My bedroom walls were just covered with photographs of dresses and campaigns that I liked and models,' when she was 16, Huntington-Whiteley said. 'My bedroom was just a big mood board.'
Huntington-Whiteley is very pleased with the end results and says working on this project has been a very satisfying experience for her. "I have loved every minute of it. I hope that people will enjoy the pieces as much as I have had designing them. Hopefully this just the beginning."
