Robert Pattinson makes his first public appearance since news of his girlfriend Kristen Stewart's scandalous affair with her married director Rupert Sanders went public.
Pattinson broke his hiatus with an interview with "Daily Show with Jon Stewart" on Monday. The "Twilight" star arrived on set very relaxed and clean-cut wearing a Gucci suit. Stewart, in his bold fashion, made no hesitation to address the story everyone has been talking about. The humorous host put out some Ben & Jerry's ice cream for him and Patttinson to enjoy and discuss relationship woes. "We're just a couple of gals talking....tell me everything!" Stewart said in a high-pitched feminine voice. "The last time I went through a bad breakup," continued Stewart," Ben & Jerry's got me through it. So I thought we could bond and talk about 'Boy you are better off kick her to the curb!"

It was just moments into the segment yet Pattinson remained cool and in good spirits; he found Stewart's inquiry comical.
At first, Pattinson attempts to ward off any Kristen Stewart talk. But the ruthless Stewart keeps digging and asks more direct questions.
"So what are we doing here? Are you all right? Is everything OK? I'm worried about you," Stewart said whole-heartedly.
Pattinson answers with a funny yet truthful response. "My biggest problem in my life is I'm cheap, and I didn't hire a publicist," he said. "I'm going to hire a publicist." Pattinson gets props for doing an interview with no PR help after a fresh scandalous breakup.
When the 26-year-old actor did not share any more than that, Stewart quit the relationship questioning and gave the star words of encouragement. "When you are young and you breakup, it's powerful and it feels like the world is ending. [...] Here is my wish for you, that you get to handle your business in private, in your personal life, and I wish you all the best."
Pattinson can now breathe easy after going through that awkward hurdle. The interview, which was intended to be a promotion of his upcoming film "Cosmopolis", finally went towards the intentional direction. The film will debut Friday, August 17th in limited release. Pattinson wants the film to do better than "The Dark Knight" which raked in $289 million after only two weeks. Pattinson's goal may have a better chance of being achieved once "Cosmopolis" opens nationwide on August 24th.
