Lady Gaga receives an angry letter from PETA boss Dan Mathews for going back on her promise of never wearing fur.

Animal rights watchdogs PETA doesn't spare even celebrities when it comes to protesting against the abuse of animals. This time round, it was Lady Gaga who faced the wrath of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Reportedly, PETA vice-president Dan Mathews was disappointed when he saw a picture of Gaga wearing a fur coat and immediately send a letter to the pop star voicing how furious and upset he was with her for going back on her promise to never wear fur.

In the picture the pop superstar was draped in what appeared to be a pink mink coat last week following a trip to a Giorgio Armani store in New York.

The letter read:

"Many of your gay fans, I among them, have long admired what you told Ellen: 'I hate fur, and I don't wear fur.' I included a link because these recent photos of you in fox and rabbit and with a wolf carcass make it appear that you have amnesia. What happened? Are your stylists telling you that it's fake, or are you a turncoat? Many gays are animal advocates because we recognize that the same arrogance and indifference that some have toward animal suffering has at times been directed toward us personally because of our orientation. By wearing those dumb furs in a heat wave, you're making yourself a target just like the mindless Kim Kardashian. As we plan our fall campaigns, please tell us whether what you gracefully told Ellen was heartfelt or just a pose."

Early last month, the animal rights organization weren't too happy when they learned that the Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio had dyed her puppy's fur pink and purple.

Addressing the issue to E! News, the organization said, "What most people don't know is that dyeing a companion animal's fur can cause the animal stress and can lead to complications or allergic reactions that endanger the animal's health. Our dogs and cats love us regardless of how we look; why not extend the same kindness to them?"

Ambrosio is not the first celebrity get into the bad books of the PETA. Only recently, the Oslen sisters faced a lot worse when the PETA slammed them for a $17,000 fur backpack.

Khole Kardashian posed naked for one of PETA's anti-fur campaign, but ironically a few months later her sister, Kim Kardashian, was slammed for wearing and selling fur. Kanye West and Reese Witherspoon are some other stars that have previously been slammed by PETA for the same reason
