2NE1 Voted Most Potential K-Pop Group to Break Out in U.S., Rocks Adidas Commercial [PHOTO&VIDEO]

2NE1 is seen as a K-Pop group that has the most potential to break out in the U.S.

The pop group of four singers has been voted in a recent poll as carrying the most potential to succeed in the American market.

The poll conducted by the Internet Education Group SevenEduM resulted with 2NE1 beating K-pop groups like Wonder Girls, T-ara, SNSD and Kara, with an unbeatable 49 per cent, garnering 184 votes out of 378. The staggering lead of 2NE1 illuminates the effects of 2NE1’s westernized sound and hip-hop elements on American music fans.

Debuting in South Korea in 2009 and Japan in 2011, 2NE1 gained victory in the voting competition for "Best New Band in the World" by MTV Iggy in November, 2011.

2NE1 is set to release their first U.S. album this year, and their first U.S. single “Take The World On” is in the works.

“will.i.am who is known to be producing 2NE1′s US debut album visited Korea this past May to stop by YG, and he sat down with CEO Yang Hyun Suk, YG’s main producer Teddy, as well the 2NE1 members to discuss their debut,” said a representative from SevenEduM, Cha Gil Young.

“2NE1will also be holding their global tour ‘NEW EVOLUTION‘ and perform in New Jersey, LA, and more. So for a number of reasons, 2NE1 looks as though they can successfully break the US market and I think that is why they were selected as #1.”

2NE1 also appears alongside Nicki Minaj, Jeremy Scott, Derrick Rose, and Big Sean in a new commercial for Adidas. The big names are seen sporting Adidas items in creative manners, spotted around the word – from New York to Chicago to Paris to Rio De Janeiro to Tokyo, according to Examiner.

In the commercial, 2NE1 shows off flash mob dance moves on the street of Tokyo.
