Beyoncé Knowles is making a difference and making bold fashion statements at the very same time. The 30-year-old entertainer continues to "run the world" by helping it. Last week, Beyoncé announced her efforts to support World Humanitarian Day. She dedicated her song "I Was Here" to the cause and is encouraging her fans and all to give back to the world.

The Grammy award winning artist will film a live performance on Friday August 10 in honor of World Humanitarian Day. Music's first-lady set out to connect with world leaders as she paid a visit to the United Nations on Thursday. The power-house diva was a picture of grace as she spoke with the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Never missing a style beat, Beyoncé wore a strong and fierce ensemble. With her hair (sans box braids) pulled back into a smart tight bun, she wore a white and black Balmain blazer with a white blouse. She accessorized with Texas-sized gold earrings - a bold look for the occasion.
Tonight's performance will be in the U.N. General Assembly Hall, where Beyoncé will be joined by songwriter Diane Warren to film a music video for "I Was Here." The special song will be released on World Humanitarian Day, August 19. All of the song's proceeds will be donated to the cause.
The World Humanitarian Day website allows people connect and share the good deeds they've done in their communities as well as make donations. Beyoncé and her organization aim to reach 1 billion people by August 19.
"We all see the headlines, and we think, 'What can I really do to help?'" Beyoncé said in a statement. "World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care."
