MaryAnn Sahoury's breast-feeding video has been turned into pornography, and the New Jersey mother has filed lawsuit against an Iowa production company.

A video created for Parents TV, featuring MaryAnn Sahoury, was intended for instructional purposes, to demonstrate breast-feeding techniques with her month-old daughter.

"Breastfeeding for me was the most rewarding thing I had ever done in my life," the 35-yearold mother told NBC News.
"I wanted to share that with people. I wanted to really give back."

"I didn't get paid to do this. I didn't want to be some sort of celebrity," Sahoury told The Associated Press. "I did this to help other moms."

In January 2010, MaryAnn Sahoury of Fair Lawn agreed to appear in the video produced by Meredith Video Studios.
She was promised that only first names would be used in the video.

However, when Sahoury searched her name on Google months later, she was left with multiple links to pornographic websites containing her full name. Upon searching for her baby's name, Sahoury also came across pornographic videos.

"I was sick to my stomach," Sahoury recalled.
"I didn't know what I was going to do. I just felt so paralyzed."

"It was like I can't even control my life and it was spiraling out of control," MaryAnn Sahoury said.

Even though she was initially told that it would appear only on Parents TV and cable television, the breast-feeding video was placed on YouTube and then taken to a third party that manipulated the video for pornographic sites, according to the suit.

Meredith Corporations released a statement that reads:
"Meredith was appalled to learn someone misused a video meant to help new mothers. We took immediate action, hiring leading law firms and online specialists to file take-down demands, clear online caches and create positive references. We took these actions even though Ms. Sahoury signed a release authorizing use of the video across all media platforms, and holding Meredith harmless for any potential misuse of the video by a third party."

While Meredith actively helped Sahoury in the beginning, the company's "interest in attempting to mitigate the damage" began to wane, leading to the lawsuit.

Sahoury is hoping that this case would lead to a greater awareness on Internet security and improve protection.

The trial is expected to begin before the end of the year, according to Sahoury's attorney.
