Mariah Carey is the latest addition to the string of celebrities like Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Selena Gomez to collaborate with nail lacquers brand OPI. The brand has also announced the launching of its first-ever 18 karat Gold Leaf Top Coat Collection in honor of Golden Jubilee of James Bond movies.
Mariah Carey has collaborated with OPI to create two nail polish collections for the lacquer brand and both these collections will be launched next year. The first collection is said to be available in stores in January and the next collection will follow suit.

Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, executive vice president and artistic director of OPI said in WWD, "Nails are part of her personality. I really have always looked for celebrities for whom nails are very important, and it is not something you just Photoshop on a picture," Weiss-Fischmann said. "She was very much part of the color selection....She's classic, but she can be edgy at certain times. She's very elegant....It appeals to me also that she's a mom. She's a working woman and then she has this very glitzy, glamour side to her."
Carey has also signed on as the new judge for the next season of "American Idol." According to Us Weekly, the singer will earn $18 million from the show. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly announced the new hire Monday at the semi-annual meeting of the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles. The announcement was quite dramatic as Reilly kept the news under wraps, while he dialed Carey's number. Carey, on speaker phone, said she's excited to join Fox's singing competition, adding, "I can't wait to get started in a couple months."
Earlier in July, Selena Gomez announced on Twitter that she will be collaborating with OPI for their new collection Nicole by OPI. Gomez was reported to be very excited about the project as she tweeting: "Coming Soon!!!" below a logo for the lacquers. There has been no update on the color range or launch date but fans can sure look forward to something fun and chic.
Recently OPI also announced the launching of its first-ever 18 karat gold leaf top coat called The Man with the Golden Gun for the 50th Anniversary of the James Bond film franchise. Prices will start at $30 for a small bottle, with the launch kicking off at prestigious British department store Harrods Aug 15.

After its launch in the UK, the nail polish will be available in other European countries and destinations including the United States, India and China.
