CoverGirl Cosmetics picks an unlikely candidate as its spokesmodel - rebel rocker Pink.
Known for using starlets with a softer image and classic beauty - like Taylor Swift and pre-raunchy Rihanna - the iconic beauty brand shakes things up by using badass artist, Pink. The company announced its new covergirl on Monday.
Pink has already finished her first print ad campaign for CoverGirl, which will debut this fall. CoverGirl is launching a "bold new mascara innovation" and what better face to represent it than the bold and fierce Pink? According to a CoverGirl press release, the Grammy winner will be donning "surprising new beauty looks on her lashes, lips and everything in between," in the coming months.

"I grew up with CoverGirl - who didn't? No matter how aggressive or strong we are, we all want to feel beautiful," Pink said of her newest venture. The rock n roll diva also shared her own personal make-up routine, "For tour, my makeup is colorful. It's always got to be smoky, sexy, and then [I have a] 'no makeup' makeup look, which is actually harder than all of them. It just depends on your mood or the color of your tube socks."
CoverGirl has spotlighted all different types of women in recent years, redefining the true definition of beauty and breaking down unverified standards. Pink joins other "uncharacteristic" CG beauty spokesmodels like Queen Latifah and Ellen DeGeneres. "Joining a group of women who have always inspired me -to laugh out loud, let my guard down, or play around with my beauty look - is such an honor," Pink said about joining the CoverGirl family.
Although she may not come across as glamorous as the typical popstar, Pink brings an extra spark and attitude that every beauty look desires. "Pink is a powerful and provocative role model, who has always been an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are," said Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and general manager of CoverGirl Cosmetics. "That combination of irreverence and integrity is exactly what the CoverGirl brand loves about her and identifies with. We have admired Pink's art and her attitude for years! We love the energy and confidence that she radiates, and the fact that inside and out she's as cool as she looks. She's an awesome addition to our CoverGirl family."
The "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" singer is thrilled about her life's ever-flowing success. "I have a lot to celebrate," Pink said. "I called my new album 'The Truth About Love,' and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music, and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love." Pink's album will drop September 18, around the same time of her ad campaign launch.
