Natalie Portman and her ballet beau, Benjamin Millepied, tied the knot on Sunday in Big Sur, Calif., wearing a vintage -esque dress. As previously reported, Portman was said to may not have worn a wedding gown because of how relaxed and low-key the wedding was planned to be. "This wedding is for their closest friends and family. It will be a very relaxed affair. They're not sending out invites. Natalie may not even buy a new dress," a source told the Evening Standard.

Portman definitely got a new dress for her momentous occasion. However, a new dress with an old feel. In Touch reports that the "Black Swan" actress married her co-star wearing a tea-length cocktail Rodarte dress. The petite Portman looked like a classic princess. The white dress featured sheer full-length sleeves.  She accessorized her vintage look with a floral tiara with veil and nude shoes (in photos it appears she wore flats). "Her dress was stunning, not overly showy or revealing," said an insider. "Very much her own subtle and pretty personal style - she always has a hippie theme, whatever she does."

Simplicity is a modern trend for weddings these days. Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wowed everyone with how simple and elegant her bridal gown was for the Royal Wedding - she wore a stunning lacey Alexander McQueen gown. Understated aesthetics are slowly prevailing over the elaborate extreme dresses that were most praised in the past. Even Alec Baldwin's new wife, Hilaria Thomas, kept it light - she wore an Amasale trumpet gown with capsleeves.

Portman's no-fuss dress went perfectly with the low-key celebration.  Her less-than-over-the-top theme made her wedding more intimate. The star wedded her fiancé in a traditional Jewish ceremony in a private home before 60 guests of close family and friends.
