Water polo wardrobe malfunction garnered unwanted attention at the London Olympic Games starting Wednesday, and is still buzzing on the internet though nothing about it is breaking news anymore.

Though seeing it on live may not be an everyday experience, such wardrobe malfunction is nothing rare in such a sport like water polo.

It was during the women’s water polo match between the U.S. and Spain on Wednesday when one American player, whom NBC commentator identified as Kami Craig, tugged at the swimsuit of a Spanish player, exposing her bare breast for the world to see.

NBC accidentally broadcasted the underwater camera which caught the very moment of the unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.

Water polo is a tough sport, sort of a combination of swimming, soccer and basketball and wrestling. All kinds of underhanded tricks are legal, including kicking, punching, scratching, clawing and choking.

"There's a lot of fighting," Layne Beaubien, a defender on the U.S. men's team, said.

"Under the water, anything goes . . . even biting. I have a guy on my team -- Jeff Powers -- who has a scar on his shoulder that's a whole mouth, a whole bite. All of us have had chunks taken out of our face. And there are a lot of broken noses."

"On top of the water, it looks pretty mellow -- you're passing the ball around -- but under water, they're grabbing, they're punching and people are getting dunked,” said Natalie Golda, a defender on the U.S. women’s team.

“Sometimes they'll pull you under water for so long, you're thinking, 'If I don't get air, soon, I'll be in trouble.'"

Though this kind of wardrobe malfunction is nothing rare in water polo, the irony is that the very moment was caught by NBC as one of very few things the channel shows live among the Olympic games.

NBC may face FCC fines for violating some rules, some reports suggested.

Of course, the topic trended all over the internet.

Some Twitter messages include:

"That underwater camera is showing a lot of nipple and crack. I didn't realize water polo was so erotic," - Brandon Tillotson

“NBC inadvertently showed an underwater nipple in this women's water polo match.” - Allan J.

“My brother keeps talking about the nipple slip in the water polo today -.-” – Nicola Anne

For your information, the U.S.-Spain game finished with a 9-9 tie, despite the U.S. team’s initial lead.

"It's hard to hold Spain down for so long," U.S. coach Adam Krikorian said.

"We played great defensively in the second half, besides the last two minutes. We needed to get a five-on-six stop there at the end and we couldn't do it."

That sounds more like real Olympics news.
