Robert Pattinson desperately wants to know the truth behind Kristen Stewart’s cheating with Rupert Sanders – from everyone involved in the scandal but Stewart herself.

Pattinson is allegedly trying to meet and talk with Sander’s model and actress wife Liberty Ross to find out whether the cheating was a “momentary indiscretion” or had lasted for months.

The Twilight actor “needs to know for his own peace of mind if theirs was just a fleeting moment. He hopes Liberty can help him find the answers to he so desperately craves,” a source told The Sunday Mirror.

“Kristen had wanted to end their closeness that day but her desires and her emotions got the better of her,” a friend told Mirror, alleging that Stewart dumped Sanders hours after the cheating scene was snapped.

“She had no intention of leaving Robert and Rupert has never mentioned walking away from his family.”

The allegedly unintentional one time fling has gravely devastated and humiliated Stewart’s long-time love, and Pattinson may just be too hurt to get past this shock.

"The entire thing has been such a blow to Rob. Talk about having his heart ripped out," a source close to Pattinson and Stewart told People.

"Rob just isn't going to be able to get past the cheating - one time or not."

He is resolute not to talk with Stewart, but the Twilight duo, once dubbed the hottest couple in Hollywood, have “exchanged heated text messages only,” a source told Hollywood Life.

Previous reports suggested that Pattinson was trying to have a “man-to-man” talk with the 41-year-old director of “Snow White and The Huntsmen.”

“Rob wants to have a man-to-man chat with the married director Rupert Sanders to find out exactly what happened between him and Kristen,” a source told RadarOnline last week.

“Kristen has already betrayed his trust by cheating, so he can't be sure that she will tell him exactly what went on between her and Rupert. Rupert has a wife and a family to save, so Rob feels like he has nothing left to lose and would be honest with him,” the source added.

Robert Pattinson is feeling doubly betrayed by his girlfriend and her director in whom he placed deep trust.

“Rob really was blindsided by this and he's going through the typical stages of being cheated on,” according to the inside source.

“He was hurt and heartbroken, then angry and p****d off, and now he just wants answers. He feels like he needs to know exactly what happened, how far it went and how many times, so he can figure out if this is something he can move past.”

Though Stewart issued a heartfelt apology for her boyfriend of three years, Pattinson is “questioning Kristen’s apology,” Radar’s source claimed.

“Rob just doesn't know who or what to believe right now .And he'll do whatever it takes to find out the truth,” said the insider.

Though Stewart attempted to explain herself, “he's not ready to talk with Kristen, it's too painful, so he's going to Rupert,” the source told the site.

Now he’s going to the director’s 33-year-old wife. Will he ever find out the raw truth? Would there be a second chance for Kristen Stewart at all? 

The days to come will tell what will become of the Twilight lovebirds, who are expected to appear together at November's premieres of "Breaking Dawn: Part Two."
