"Vampire Dairies" star Nina Dobrev denies rumors about an engagement to boyfriend and "Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder saying she's not following the footsteps of Miley Cyrus.

At a time when everyone wants to do what Miley Cyrus is doing, "Vampire Dairies" star Nina Dobrev dares to be different. Recently, the Internet was buzzing with news about the actress getting engaged to boyfriend and "Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder. However, Dobrev has denied such rumors. Though the couple are said to be madly in love with each other, they are in no hurry to race to the altar as of now.

"Eventually I am going to marry and have a family but not anytime soon," said the 23-year-old in the September issue of Canada's FASHION magazine. "I'm not going to pull a Miley."

Rumours of Somerhalder proposing to Dobrev began to circulate in January. Dobrev denied the accusations, as well, even though the two have been dating since 2010.

"There is no truth to this item at all," Dobrev's rep told US Weekly at the time. "There was no proposal."

While Dobrev has a very sophisticated style sense herself, she trusts Ilaria Urbinati's fashion sense more when it comes to red carpet appearances and other formal events. Dobrev has been seen donning sophisticated looks by Donna Karan, Elie Saab and Monique Lhuillier.

"I needed a collaborator, not a dictator," she told FASHION. "Someone who'd hopefully understands me. When you're getting ready for a red carpet, you have to have a great team and you have to make sure that everyone is looking out for every little detail. If they're not. . . Joan Rivers will be."

The Canadian actress, who appears on the cover of the magazine's September issue, also chatted about her personal style, saying she is like a "chameleon" when it comes to her looks. But she said of her style must haves:

"A good bra. Every girl has to have a great bra. Dresses, I love maxi dresses, that's my favorite thing. Every girl's gotta have a Chanel. I've recently learned and I just got one."
