A source close to Liberty Ross and her family claims that a report published in a newspaper has falsely quoted the family reporting the whole scandal was more than a one-time fling.

A report published in British newspaper The People quoted Liberty Ross' brother saying that  director Rupert Sanders's affair with Kristen Stewart was more than a one-time fling. However, a source close to the Ross family says that the quotes are false and Ross' brother made no such comments.

"Contrary to inaccurate reports, neither Liberty Ross nor any member of her family has spoken to the media," the source tells PEOPLE (not the same as the newspaper). "Quotes that are being attributed to the Ross family have been completely fabricated."

According to The People report, Liberty's brother, Leopold Ross was quoted to have said, "[Rupert and Kristen's affair took place] from the last half of filming and all through post-production, clear into last week."

However, editors at The People continue to stand by their story.

Whether it was a one-time fling or not, Robert Pattinson, "just isn't going to be able to get past the cheating - one time or not," a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. "It's something she always knew he could never tolerate."

Both Stewart and Sanders have issued public apologies. However, from the looks of it and how things are shaping out for each of them, it is going to take more than an apology to mend things. Pattinson and Stewart are not on speaking terms and both have left the home they once shared, PEOPLE has confirmed.

While Pattinson is not ready to talk with his girlfriend of three years, he reportedly attempted to have a "man to man" talk with the married director, who was photographed in a steamy rendezvous with Stewart.

"Rob wants to have a man-to-man chat with the married director Rupert Sanders to find out exactly what happened between him and Kristen," a source told RadarOnline. "Kristen has already betrayed his trust by cheating, so he can't be sure that she will tell him exactly what went on between her and Rupert. Rupert has a wife and a family to save, so Rob feels like he has nothing left to lose and would be honest with him."
