Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders may have hurt the young Twilight startlet’s naïve lover Robert Pattinson, but the British director’s marriage will not be jeopardized, according to Sanders’ father.
Michael Sanders confidently said that his son’s 10-year marriage to model and actress Liberty Ross will stay intact, reported New York Daily News.
“From what I gather nothing really happened and it is all a lot of fuss about nothing,” Rupert Sander’s father told People magazine Friday.
“I should imagine it was something very brief.”
He described his son Rupert as a "very honorable, hardworking and dedicated father and filmmaker.”
Kristen Stewart “is a very pretty girl and when you work that closely with someone for so long, sometimes things happen,” Michael added.
“This is nothing,” he brushed off, claiming that the marriage “will definitely survive all of this. It is all a lot of fuss about nothing.”
Following the cheating scandal, which was made public on Tuesday, Rupert Sanders issued a statement apologizing to his family.
"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," Sanders said.
"My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
The reaction of Liberty Ross has been minimum, with a line of “Wow” on Twitter, followed by a Marilyn Monroe’s quote, "sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." Then she deleted her Twitter account.
An Instagram photo alleged as being sent by Ross showed a picture of Snow White crying and drinking alcohol, with a caption reading "not so pretty or so pure after all."
The Snow White-starring actress Stewart is reportedly writing a private apology to Ross.
"Kristen didn’t feel it was appropriate to issue a public apology to Liberty once the story of her affair with Rupert broke," a source told RadarOnline.
“Instead, she’s going to do the decent thing and write Liberty a private letter expressing her deepest regret for her actions."
It may be that everything began to go wrong ever since “Snow White and the Huntsman” director chose to star not only Kristen Stewart but also his entire family in the movie.
Ironically, Liberty Ross played the mother of Stewart, while her children Skyla, 7, and Tennyson, 5, were extras in a final scene of the film.
Stewart and Ross worked closely in the filming process. The 33-year-old wife of Sanders said of the 22-year-old starlet, "Kristen was my number one choice. I think there is no better Snow White in my opinion. She is great.”
Ever since Ross saw Stewart in Sean Penn’s film, “she’s got something very transfixing about her. We needed a modern, edgy, cool girl."
Starring together with Stewart was “so amazing, it was literally a dream. I couldn’t really believe it was happening,” Ross commented.
Has that dream turned out to be a nightmare?
