Azealia Banks has been hot on the fashion scene lately. The new rapper is now the new face of T by Alexander Wang. The pair became close pals since attending the Prada and Schiaparelli Met Ball together earlier this year.
"She exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent," Wang told Style.com. "I loved working with her on this video for T Fall 2012, and think the collaboration captures a collision of energies."
The video campaign features the long-haired raptress (nicknamed Rapunzel) dancing to an infectious bubbly beat of drums while she raps her song "Van Vogue" in her signature hip New Yorker flow. The 52 second clip has a 90s-esque vibe with choppy cuts, close-ups, and split screens.
Banks' youthful energy embodies the collection as she dons ultra-cropped tops and tees. Wang is known for casting hip artists for his T campaigns; he previously worked with Die Antwoord and Santigold.
Azealia Banks hasn't been on the scene for even a year and she's already won the hearts of many. Karl Lagerfeld is a superfan, he asked the 21-year-old rapper to perform a private concert at his Paris home.
