September is the fashion month. After months of hard work and planning, September allows designers, models, and all industry participants to show what their made of. Not only does September mean fashion week, it also means the most anticipated issue of every fashion magazine will fight to be on top.
In the 2009 documentary film "The September Issue", (former) Vogue publisher Tom Florio revealed the exciting news that the September 2007 issue would be the magazine's largest issue, boasting a whopping 840 pages. Five years later and the magazine breaks its own record.

According to a Vogue rep, this year's September issue will have Lady Gaga on the cover and 658 ad pages - an impressive number as many ad counts plummeted since the stock market crash in 2008. The '07 issue had 727 ad pages but this issue will make up most of the heavy book with editorial content. There are also reports of Teen Vogue having their largest issue too (their largest to date is 2006 Mischa Barton's cover which had 370 pages).
So just how many pages will this September issue have? Take a guess. The magazine is holding a Facebook contest on its page Friday July 27, asking readers to guess the page count. 100 readers whose guess is closest to the actual number will win Vogue's new Editor's Eyebook autographed by Vogue editors. Winners will be announced Saturday July 28.
As for other magazines, some may not be as heavy as Vogue this September. Glamour is reporting ad pages decreased by 16% due to the loss of food/pharma ad category. Vanity Fair lost 2.5%, going down to only 222 ad pages, W lost 4% decreasing to 246 pages, and one major drop is for Lucky who sank 26% with only 136 ad pages.
