After the heartbreaking revelation of her affair with married director Rupert Sanders, Kristen Stewart issued a heartfelt public apology to her longtime boyfriend Robert Pattinson Wednesday night. "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart painfully said.

The 22-year-old actress made sure to mention her boyfriend in efforts to salvage the relationship, but she failed to directly acknowledge another person who was deeply hurt, maybe even the most hurt --- Sander's wife Liberty Ross. According to RadarOnline, the actress is penning a private letter of apology to Ross. A source says, "Kristen didn't feel it was appropriate to issue a public apology to Liberty once the story of her affair with Rupert broke. Instead, she's going to do the decent thing and write Liberty a private letter expressing her deepest regret for her actions." According to the source, Kristen is now just realizing the severity of the affair; it has now "dawned on her" the director has two children who are also affected by their indiscretion.

The 33-year-old model/actress worked with Stewart in her husband's directed film "Snow White and the Huntsman"; she played Stewart's mother. The two women became friends through the movie; Ross even posted photos of them together on her blog but has since taken them down due to the shocking betrayal.  

Sanders made known his admiration for Stewart, though he played it to be innocent. When asked about her performance in his film he said, "[Kristen] a great spirit, she's really quite rebellious ... and feisty and kind of wild."  His wife, apparently oblivious to the true relationship between her husband and co-star, also reveled in Stewart's acting capabilities.  "[Kristen] was my number one choice,' Ross told Celebuzz at the movie's London premiere in May. "I think there is no better Snow White in my opinion. She is great. I mean, I've never watched a Twilight movie, so I don't really know, but I loved her in Sean Penn's film just for that moment that she's in it. Ever since then - she's got something very transfixing about her. We needed a modern, edgy, cool girl."

While Stewart publicly apologized to her boyfriend, Sanders made sure to apologize to his wife of ten years and their two small children (aged 5 and 7). "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together," Sanders pleaded.

Weeks before the secret affair went public, Ross confessed the sacrifices she's made in support of her husband's progressive film-making career. Before "Snow White and the Huntsman" Sanders was known for directing commercials.  The model who previously spent her days in London working with Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano, gave up her glamorous and more comfortable life to move to Los Angeles so that her husband can pursue his Hollywood dreams. "I romanticized domesticity for a while, and loved having a shopping list of groceries stuck to the fridge for the first time," Ross told YOU magazine. "But moving here and starting a life all over again was a lot harder than I had anticipated. I just didn't think it would be as isolating and daunting as it turned out to be." Since the move, she's become somewhat of a single mom being that her husband was always busy (clearly work wasn't the only thing occupying Sanders' time).  "She's been very supportive and she's been a strong single mother for the last year-and-a-half, because I haven't been around," admitted Sanders in a June interview with The Guardian.  Despite the hardships the couple has gone through, Ross still remains optimistic. "We rode through the really hard times and we stuck it out," she said regarding the LA transition; you have to wonder if she still feels the same way now that her husband has cheated.

In Sanders' interview with The Guardian just a month ago, the director seemed to be head over heels in love with his wife. The 41-year-old film maker first met Ross when she was 17, she was his best friend's little sister. "We were at a party one night, and this beautiful girl walked in the room," he grins. "I just knew I was going to marry her."  He even spoke about giving each other space in the beginning of the relationship being that they were so young.  "I didn't propose to her for seven years because I felt that she was too young and she'd resent me if she hadn't lived. But it was good because I was off making commercials and she was modeling, so we had quite a free - not sexually free, we weren't swinging or having other relationships ... I hope!"

The married couple may survive.   Their longtime love and affection seem to be quite strong. In an interview with the Daily Mail earlier this month, Ross revealed bits of their love story. "Once we started going out...I knew he was the one for me. He is a very special soul," the British model said.  

Perhaps it's the location that has the once doting husband turning into an unfaithful Hollywood heartthrob. When asked about his move to California, Sanders confessed that he rather raise his children in England but he just can't give up the luxury of having "the [center] of the film industry is 30 minutes away."

Many Hollywood couples don't survive past a few years. It's clear that Ross and Sanders had a much more stable relationship in the UK. In the fickle world, that is Hollywood, where you're only as good as who you're seen with, can the once committed couple remain a family in their new location?
