Katie Holmes is remaking a name for herself in the fashion world, as she graces the cover of C Magazine’s September issue.

The glamorous photos of Katie Holmes were taken just a week before she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise – and yet she stuns. 

The now single Holmes poses in a black Tom Form dress, while letting her brunette hair down and looking utterly sexy.

Inside the magazine, Katie is snapped separately in a ballgown, a white shirt and a leather jacket over nothing, expressing her sex appeal to the fullest.

Holmes surely knows how to look sexy.

“I think women want to feel sexy but they don’t want anyone to know they’re trying,” she told the magazine referring to designing for women.

The interview was conducted just a day before she publicly broke the news of divorce.
Senior editor Kelsey McKinnon, who interviewed Holmes, recalls the talk and now notices that divorce signs were all there.

"Going back over the tapes, there were signs: Holmes was certainly very aware of herself, laying a couple cards on the table but never showing her whole hand," McKinnon wrote to WWD.

"Most noticeably, the one name decisively absent from her lexicon: Tom Cruise. She never actually refers to him by name over pages and pages of transcription."

The 33-year-old actress remained elusive about her relationship with then-husband. When asked if Suri made her and Tom closer, Holmes responded, "I don't know. I mean...I don't know. People have been having babies a long time."

In terms of her life and future, Holmes told the magazine that she is “ready to take on some more challenging roles.”

Ready to move to a new chapter of life?

“I feel like I worked so much at such a young age that I really wanted to have life experiences. I feel more balanced and like I have more to bring to the table. I always felt like I wanted to catch up [in my personal life] to what I was doing [in my career],” Holmes continued.

Post-divorce Katie Holmes has quickly settled down in New York City with her 6-year-old daughter Suri, of whom Holmes has full custody. The mother and daughter have been spotted everywhere, having plenty of play dates.
In her fashion career, Holmes is planning to bring Holmes & Yang to New York Fashion Week in September, according to WWD.

The actress will present the spring & summer collection of Holmes Yang with Jeanne Yang, Holmes' stylist and design partner.

Besides advancing her fashion career, Katie Holmes is also set to return to Broadway stage in a new family comedy “Dead Accounts.” The five-character comedy is set to open this fall at the Music Box Theatre.

Appearing on the cover of Elle’s August issue, the ex-wife of Tom Cruise spoke of the actor.
“He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years,” Holmes said. “I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”

“I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my 20s, it’s like you’re trying too hard to figure everything out . . . I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase," she told Elle.
