Lanvin is a staple for many fashionistas young and old; each wearer brings about his/her own finesse, never one looking like the other. Designer Alber Elbaz is constantly greeted by adoring fans who attend his shows wearing Lanvin and this street style has inspired him for the latest campaign.

Rather than using the usual uniform models, Elbaz ingeniously casted real men and women, ranging in age from 18-80, for his fall 2012 ad campaign.

"I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes," Elbaz told WWD. "It felt like a crazy family, and I like that."

The true-life commercial was captured by photographer Steven Meisel in New York. The ads emphasize on the multifaceted spirit of any fashion-being as the styling had no one theme. From refined to rebellious, each non-model featured a different flair, proving that Lanvin can have multiple angles and versatility.

Shot in an apartment-like setting, the ads were creatively driven by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and Stephen Wolstenholme of House + Holme.

The designer delved into each non-model's story. The cast of unknown faces included interesting characters, from a waiter to a milliner to a recent immigrant. One model in particular found this campaign to be her dream-come-true. Jacquie "Tajah" Murdock (the older woman in the green) shared that ever since she was 18 she wanted to model in Paris but she was a dancer at the Apollo Theater.

The men's and women's campaigns are set to debut in September issues in France, the U.S., Italy, Great Britain, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Russia and Brazil with women's-only ads running in Germany, Spain, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Middle East.

An accompanying viral video will launch August 21.
