Georgia May Jagger, daughter of Rock Star Mick Jagger is now the face of Madonna's Fashion Brand, Material Girl
Georgia May Jagger is the new spokesmodel for Material Girl, the collection designed by Madonna and her daughter Lola.
"I do think it represents Madonna's style when she was younger. Girls my age are still trying to do it. It's all youthful and fun and carefree style that she's known for," said Jagger.
Jagger is no stranger to the camera. With celebrity parents, model mom Jerry Hall and singer Mick Jagger, Georgia has learnt to befriend the camera at a very young age. And this has definitely helped her as she follows her mother's footsteps in the modeling world.
As she develops her modeling career, the 20-year-old says she's getting better at accepting these things and, honestly, getting better at her job. "Even the most successful models, it takes getting used to. Fashion and photos can still be intimidating, even if you're always around it, but they're not as much now as my first ones!"
"I ask my mom for advice often. It's not specifically 'how to model' - you have to develop that yourself - but I'll ask her about fashion. I've seen her work before, and we talk about work. She's obviously very experienced," Jagger says.
Jagger says she gets her eclectic style from her dad thought she feels her looks are a lot less flashy than his. She has a bit of the old English countryside style in her closet, combined with glam rock touches. Vivienne Westwood is a favorite designer.
"I had a moment beforehand when I wondered, 'Should I wear it?' My mom is tall and gorgeous and can wear anything, but it worked out in the end for me. I was there to have fun and I did."
She adds, "A young girl should have fun. I'd say wear whatever you want. Don't worry about being sensible."
When she's not working, Jagger says her days are about photography, art and barbecues whenever it's not raining in England. Those are all things that keep her away from shopping, which she'd do too often if given the chance, she says with a laugh.
"I don't do shopping as a planned thing with friends. It's all impulse and by myself. This way there's no one to talk me out of it."
