As Katie Holmes is all set to launch her clothing collection with long time friend and personal stylish Jeanne, Holmes & Yang, NYC Fashionistas share a few words of wisdom with the new bona fide designer.

"I'd say to take it slowly," Minkoff told E! News, at Project Runway's tenth anniversary party in New York.  "And these early moments are so exciting, so savor every bit of them. It goes by really fast."

According to WWD, Katie Holmes will present her first collection this September during New York Fashion Week. And she better get ready.

"You get two minutes to enjoy your fashion show," Minkoff said. "And it's right before the models go out and you see them all in their last looks. That's the best part, so take in that moment."

Lepore offered similar words of wisdom to the 'Dawson's Creek' star. "Keep it small," she said. "And make it in New York City."

Katie Holmes couldn't be happier about spending more time with fashion business partner Jeanne Yang. The design duo will debut their clothing collection for the first time at New York Fashion week this September, and Katie Holmes is said to be thrilled about their newest industry venture.

"Katie couldn't be happier about working with Jeanne for Fashion week," a source close to the star revealed. "She is one of her most trusted allies and her friendship is one of the reasons for Katie's strength."

Katie has long been known for having a passion for style. Her first outing after splitting from Tom Cruise last month was to attend a recording for an episode of fashion series Project Runway: All Stars. Her close confidant Jeanne shares Katie's drive to make a success of their clothing label while also supporting the actress through her difficult divorce.

"Jeanne is known for her friendliness," an insider told UK magazine Heat.

"Jeanne has children too, and Katie is looking forward to Suri spending time with them."
