Jennifer Lopez announced yesterday that she will be leaving American Idol. The announcement came a day after Steven Tyler announced his departure from the show

It seems like judging popular singing talent show American Idol is not a treat anymore. On Friday, pop singer Jennifer Lopez announced that she will be leaving the show after two years of being a judge on the show. Her announcement came a day later after Steven Tyler, another judge on the show announced his independence from the show. Rumors also have it that Randy Jackson is also thinking of leaving the show. If this is true, this season will see a complete new panel of judges.

The reason Lopez gives for leaving American Idol is because she wants to concentrate on other projects. "I have my movies and my music and my this and that and it all kind of worked together for a while, but it gets just more complicated," Jennifer Lopez said Friday on the "Idol" host's morning radio show. "And as the kids get a little bigger ... I started feeling like something had to give, something has to give. And that's where I think I am right now."

"So does that mean we're co-workers or not?," Seacrest asked.

"Ommph," she said, "you know, I really was dreading this phone call with you."

"You're breaking up with me?"

Steven Tyler was less teary about his departure. He was also on the show for two years and says he needs to return to his first love, Aerosmith.

"After some long ... hard ... thoughts ... I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress 'American Idol' before she boils my rabbit," he said in a statement obtained by Pop & Hiss. "I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back - but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I've got two fists in the air and I'm kicking the door open with my band."

According to US Weekly, a source has told the magazine that Randy Jackson has also left the show as a judge but will be seen as a mentor. Accoriding to the source, Mariah Carey would be filling his seat. "They are in serious talks with Mariah, and it's very close to being a done deal," the source said.

As reported earlier, Adam Lambert and Miley Cyrus are others that are being considered as judges for the show.
