iPhone 5 Release Date

iPhone 5 rumor mill seems to have no end, at least not until Apple’s next generation smartphone is released.

Though unannounced, unconfirmed and unrevealed, the iPhone 5 is already ready to make history as some Chinese online retailers already began offering its pre-release sale.

Some preemptive sellers on Taobao, China’s largest e-commerce site, have begun accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 5.

In some cases the sellers are asking for a deposit of 1,000 yuan ($160) for the new phone, according to Reuters. One seller, "Dahai99888", who started accepting pre-orders this week, is asking for a full upfront payment of a staggering 6,999 yuan ($1,100).

Some Taobao sellers told Reuters that their iPhone 5 stocks will be obtained from Hong Kong or the U.S. to be sold in China.
"Demand is high. Yesterday someone just bought two phones. Altogether we have about two dozen orders," a seller on Taobao said.

Dubbed as the "biggest consumer electronics launch in history" by a Wells Fargo analyst, the iPhone 5 seems to be so highly coveted in the thriving economic giant that its intense demand is driving the frenzy of mysterious pre-order activities.

In general, demand for Apple products in China is so high that many consumers rush to purchase smuggled products in order get them ahead of the official release.

The iPhone 5 is widely anticipated for a fall release, sometime between August and October.

The latest rumor for the release date of iPhone 5 points to late August or September, a recnt report by Sina.com suggests.

Previous rumors indicated an October release of iPhone 5, which would have been one year after the release of iPhone 4S.

Either way, the iPhone 5’s fall release is almost certain, as Apple reportedly has hinted to the release date of the much-anticipated next generation iPhone alongside some of its futures, according to the iOS 6 website. The release date of Apple’s new mobile operating system iOS 6 is set in the fall of 2012.

The specifications, details and price of the upcoming iPhone are yet to be confirmed by Apple, but the next-gen smartphone of Apple will allegedly sport 4-inch, edge-to-edge screen and a sleeker body.
