In order to alleviate the damage of the economic crisis, Vogue Italia's editor-in-chief, Franca Sozzani will be bringing Fashion's Night Out to Milan on September 6 and Florence on September 18. "This is a critical moment for economy and the fashion business has been affected as well," said the Italian journalist  who also brought the annual event to Rome last year. "Through Fashion's Night Out, we have the opportunity to increase customer flow though the stores, which are currently suffering a lot."

Stores will present special-edition products priced from 30 euros, or $37, to 60 euros, or $74. According to WWD, the "sales proceeds will be donated to people living in Italy's Emilia Romagna region recently hit by the earthquake."

Additionally, another charity initiative will take place that night. Lavazza will sell a limited-edition of sustainable coffee boxes designed by various fashion brands, including Roberto Cavalli, Mami, Etro, Missoni, Versace, and Moschino. The product will benefit the Fashion 4 Development program, which Sozzani is an avid ambassador of.

Further extending her efforts to keep alive the fashion business, the fashion Samaritan, Sozzani  teamed up Vogue Italia with the Milan municipality to organize a talent search for young designers. The search will include an exhibition held at Palazzo Morando, and the winning designer will be awarded a prize during Fashion's Night Out.
