Usher’s stepson Kyle Glover has remained brain dead since a tragic jet ski accident on Friday, and a friend of the R&B star is under investigation for hitting the 11-year-old boy.

Jeffrey S. Hubbard, a friend of Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster, is being probed after his jet ski struck Kyle in his head along with his friend, who were riding on an inner tube. The accident took place on Lake Lanier in Georgia, around 3:25 p.m. on Friday.

Kyle Glover was found face up in water, and was already unresponsive at the scene when rescuers reached him.

The two kids were airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where Usher’s stepson was declared brain dead, while the unidentified 15-year-old girl was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm.

“The accident is under investigation, and Hubbard is [under investigation] as the operator of the personal watercraft,” Sergeant. Mike Burgamy of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources told ABC News.

“A pontoon was pulling the two adolescents on an inner tube, and the personal water craft went over the top of them,” he explained.

Hubbard was a friend of Usher family, a media representative at Georgia's DNR told MTV News.

Alcohol or drug use is not suspected for the accident, Burgamy said.

Usher reportedly arrived at the hospital Friday night and has not left his stepson since. He even chartered a plane for Tameka so she could rush to her son. Tameka too has been staying in the hospital, sources told TMZ.

The R&B Singer and Tameka was married in 2007 but split and finalized their divorce in 2009. Kyle is one of two sons of Tameka and Ryan Glover.

“Kyle, You are strong.. You'll be saved I know it. I love you my baby. I need all #Prayers for my son! thanks you everybody!" Tameka took the message to Facebook.

"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in him and his word at this most difficult time," the family told CNN on Tuesday.
"We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."
