Kate Spade New York may give womenswear and lifestyle retailer C. Wonder a run for their money with the launch of their latest line, Kate Spade Saturday. The line, set to launch by the end of the year, is said to resemble the popular apparel and home goods store.
Kate Spade Saturday plans to create a "casual and quirky" atmosphere and provide home accessories and clothing. The line will be lower priced than Kate Spade New York's line, making it a leveled price point with C. Wonder.

Current Kate Spade New York employees are supposedly transferring to work for the new line. The Daily News found that, "according to public records that can be found at trademark.markify.com, a trademark for the 'Kate Spade Saturday' name was filed in August 2011 and registered this February. It covers products like home goods, footwear, jewelry and cosmetics."
A C. Wonder insider claims that the brand has no worries about the upcoming Kate Spade extension. Kate Spade Saturday will initially open overseas and will focus more on an online presence; therefore C. Wonder will not expect much competition in the New York market. The insider also noticed the resemblance between the two companies saying, "Imitation is flattering."
