R&B singer Usher's 11-year-old stepson has suffered a severe jet-ski accident over the weekend and has been declared brain dead.
Kyle Glover, the son of Usher's soon-to-be ex-wife, was on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia floating on an inner tube when a jet-ski crashed into his head. The pre-teen was accompanied by a female peer, who is suffering severe injuries. Glover did not experience any brain activity since the collision.
There has not yet been a decision on whether or not to take Glover off life support.
Despite their messy divorce, Usher chartered a private jet for Tameka Foster, who was out of town during the accident.
Officials are currently investigating the jet ski accident. The Business Standard reports that Robin Hill, a representative for Department of Natural Resources, the department's Critical Incident Response Team will recreate the accident using digital technology to determine how fast the jet-skier was going at the time of the accident. According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources did not find alcohol to be a factor of the incident and that the man on the jet ski was also a young teen.
Usher takes his father-role very seriously; he recently told ABC's Robin Roberts, "My steadfast belief is that a father is important in a child's life."
Celebrities have offered support during the singer's time of tragedy.
Fantasia tweeted, "Everyone please pray for Usher and Tameka's son! This is the time they really need your prayers."
Russell Simmons tweeted, "praying Usher and Tameka's son is ok..."
Usher and Foster got married in 2007 and divorced in 2009. They have two children together and are battling a bitter divorce. However, the two parents are reportedly in the hospital together.
