With the newly gained freedom from her hubby, would Katie Holmes reignite her daring fashion sense?

Holmes certainly seems to be enjoying her independence from Tom Cruise and - hopefully - her daughter's freedom from the Church of Scientology.

The 33-year-old actress was seen smiling with her 6-year-old daughter Suri as they enjoyed an evening treat of ice cream in East Village, New York City on Tuesday. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, spent his 50th birthday alone.

It was only Monday when Holmes stepped out in public just days after filing for divorce from her soon-to-be-ex-husband Cruise.

Holmes and her daughter moved into a new apartment in the City nearby Suri's gymnastics studio.

Katie Holmes once boasted a stunning lineup of red carpet looks in the past years.
But her life as a wife and mother clothed Holmes in double denim, boden style stripes, shapeless frocks and boring ballet shoes.

As she becomes single again, could Holmes' beauty and style blossom again? After all, her glamour has not faded yet.
