Following Anderson Cooper's public announcement about his sexuality, singer and songwriter Frank Ocean makes a bold move and comes out as bisexual.

The "Novacane" singer took to his blog yesterday addressing the rumors around his sexuality. In the blog post, the Ocean reveals his first love to be a man.

He starts off, "What I'm about to post is for anyone who cares to read. It was intended to fill the thank yous section in my album credits [Upcoming album "Channel Orange"], but with all the rumors going round...I figured it'd be good to clarify"

Ocean reminisces about his summer of love.

"4 summers ago, I met somebody. I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Every day almost, and on the day we were together, time would glide. Most of the day I'd see him, and his smile. By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless.[...] My mind would wander to women I had been with, ones I cared for and thought I was in love with."

The singer even opened up about confronting his love interest, admitting his feelings. The love was unrequited for three years as the man that he loved had a girlfriend.

Ocean's upcoming album is reported to feature songs about love devotion to a man.

The Hip Hop community is not known for its "tolerance" of homosexuality; many songs are ultra misogynistic and feature sexual slurs and a negative outlook on the gay community. Fortunately there are members of the industry who are progressive.  Fellow ODD Future member, Tyler, the Creator, tweeted his support while Russell Simmons expressed his support on his blog, Global Grind, "Today is a big day for hip-hop. It is a day that will define who we really are.  How compassionate will we be? How loving can we be? How inclusive are we? I am profoundly moved by the courage and honesty of Frank Ocean."

Frank Ocean chose the perfect day to expose his true self -- Independence Day. The rising star's bravery and confidence is an inspiration to many and truly embodies freedom.
