In true Versace style, there was no shortage of frothing chiffon, skin-tight leather and ostentatious crystal embellishments, with dresses slashed, stitched and patched to slinky, form-fitting finished product.
Paired with classic hair and makeup, models showed off the best of the appellation-controlled haute couture designs, Versace first of an elite pool of top labels to show their one-off creations at the annual event.
Long limbs, gladiator-style, calf-high, heeled sandals and daring cut-outs took to the star-lined runway, with the design house's lady at large, Donatella, who said she took inspiration from a set of Tarot cards, giving the show her final, perma-tanned seal of approval.
It's been a big weekend for Atelier Versace, with the label launching its inaugural jewellery line on Sunday. True to form, the hand-sculpted and one-of-a-kind pieces are dripping with diamonds, emeralds, amethysts, yellow diamonds and sapphires.
"As a designer and a collector of fine jewelry I have always wanted to offer the same quality of craftsmanship in jewelry as we offer with the Atelier Versace fashion collection," Dontella said. "Individual ring from the collection is a work of art."
