One of the most anticipated Disney shows, “Girl Meets World” premiered on June 27, and Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel dish on some details from their “Boy Meets World” days.

Savage and Fishel played one of the most iconic couples in the ‘90s and now they come together once again in “Girl Meets World” as Cory and Topanga who have a tween daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

While many viewers loved the two as an on-screen couple, we can’t help but wonder, did they actually date in real-life too?

Savage and Fishel dished the details to E! News about their onscreen reunion and admitted that they did have crushes on each other back in the day.

“How could you not? She’s the best,” said Savage about his on-screen wife. “She’s a beautiful person inside and out. She’s kind and smart and everyone loves her.”

Although Savage had a crush on his co-star, it turns out the two never actually dated.

“We’ve always been best friends and what is there not to love about Ben? He’s obviously very handsome, he’s very smarty, he’s very, very funny.” said Fishel. “Nobody makes me laugh more than Ben does. But Ben and I have always been just best friends and like family members.”

So what are Cory and Topanga like as young parents?

“Cory and Topanga are exactly what you would expect them to be as young parents,” said Fishel. “Cory is still very uptight, very risk averse, he’s very protective, he likes to be in control, and Topanga is very more laid back. She tries to get him to, you know, not be so nervous all the time and to trust in the way that they have raised their children and that when the world comes to meet Riley, she will be prepared. And so, a lot of their fun dynamic that was around in the ‘90s is exactly the same. They’ve just matured a little bit.”

When asked if there are any “Boy Meets World” references that fans can look forward to, Fishel dishes some details about what to expect on the spinoff series.

“Absolutely, there are a lot of references to ‘Boy Meets World’ and to the characters and to the story lines,” said Fishel. “In the finale last night we talk about Cory and Topanga’s first date and the fact that we’re not really sure what or when that date took place, were they 2, were they 8, were they 6, were they what? How old were they? We make references like that where the younger audience is still going to find funny, but they may not recognize why it is the joke that it is, whereas the older audience is going to know right away, this is the Cory and Topanga thing and there are a lot of those moments that the older audience is going to love.”
