It was only four years ago since the Spice Girls reunited for a world tour. Now, the British pop girl group is back again - this time for a musical. Victoria "Posh" Beckham, Melanie "Scary" Brown, Emma "Baby" Benton, Geri "Ginger" Halliwell, and Melanie "Sporty" Chisholm came together today (June 26) in London's St. Pancras Hotel (where they filmed their first hit, "Wannabe", music video in 1996) to announce the launch of the new musical, Viva Forever!, which will feature the Spice Girls' greatest hits. The musical will be written by Jennifer Saunders and produced by producer of the classic Mamma Mia!, Judy Craymer.

Like their many fans, the Spice Girls are super excited for the musical. Sporty (Chisholm) says,"It's better than we could ever have imagined." Posh (Beckham) claims that the show will "be introducing a whole new generation to Girl Power".
The show's website describes the plot: "As one girl follows her dreams, Viva Forever! charts her journey into the world of overnight celebrity and its impact on her mother and the friends she thought she'd have forever. From London to Spain and back again, as the world judges you, it's all about who you really are and who you want to be, whatever the cost."
Viva Forever! will open on December 11, just in time for the holidays.
The Spice Girls came on the scene in 1996 and sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, spreading Girl Power to females everywhere.
