Chris Brown stole the show last year with a surprise performance and duet with fellow musician Nicki Minaj at the 2013 BET Awards, but unfortunately, the R&B superstar was not asked to perform at this year's show.

Brown, 25, has been focusing on his music since his release from a three-month stint in jail, but apparently he won't have the opportunity to show off his new material at the upcoming 2014 BET Awards, HollywoodLife.com reports.

"There have been no rehearsals set for Chris Brown for an individual performance, he hasn't been attached to anyone else's performances and he is not scheduled to perform at the show," a source told the site exclusively.

"Even the last time he was the secret performance a few years ago, people knew it was him, and there have been zero rumors going around that that will happen again. So a Chris Brown performance is not happening this year."

BET also confirms that, "All talent confirmed to-date has been posted to www.betpressroom.com on the press release pages; unfortunately we have no information on Chris brown attendance."

So who will be performing at the award show? As of right now, Lil Wayne, Lionel Richie, Pharrell Williams, Drake, Usher, Trey Songz, Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige will all take the stage this year.

Despite not being invited to perform, Brown has been focused solely on his new album, "X", and then planning a tour for the album's release.

"The tour will be in conjunction with the album and that will happen this year," a source close to the singer told the site. "We are just waiting on RCA to release a date."

The BET Awards will premiere on June 29.
