Starting October 2012, shoppers in Hong Kong and China will be able to shop J. Crew for the first time ever outside North America.

J. Crew will be partnering up with Lane Crawford, Asia's leading design specialty store, to provide access to their women's and men's collections across Greater China.  With the collaboration, the American retailer will offer a selection of the J. Crew Autumn/Winter 2012 women's ready-to-wear and shoes, as well as men's apparel and accessory collections.  The items will be available for purchase at select Lane Crawford stores, including the online store.

"We always want to work with the 'best of the best,' and Lane Crawford was at the top of our fantasy list,"  Millard Drexler, J.Crew's chairman and CEO, said in a press release.  "When it comes to editing and presenting collections with a creative and elevated point of view, no one does it better.  We are beyond excited to partner with Lane Crawford to help introduce J.Crew to Asia."

The apparel will be debuting at the Lane Crawford ifc mall in Hong Kong, the Seasons Place store in Beijing and on lanecrawford.com. 

According to the release, J.Crew also has more expansion plans for Europe and Asia in the next few years.  The company currently operates 277 retail stores, which includes 227 J.Crew stores, 8 crewcuts stores, 3 J.Crew stores in Canada and 39 Madewell stores.  The retailer also has the J. Crew catalog business, jcrew.com and 96 Factory outlet stores.
