To reflect an expansion into a more diverse portfolio of brands and technological developments, the formerly known Malibu Dream Girl, Inc. has been renamed to Malibu Design Group.
The 30-year-old company produces swimwear and cover-ups for women, juniors and children sold in many department stores, retailers and specialty stores including big name brands like Macy's, Nordstrom, Dillard's, Kohl's, JCPenney, Lord& Taylor, Sears, QVC and Forever 21.
"While we embrace a modern new name and attitude, our values and standards will remain the same," Henry Fan, the company's president, said in a press release. "We will continue to provide high-quality products and exceptional service on which we have built our reputation."
Along with the rebranding the company will add a new headquarters in Los Angeles, an expanded team of designers and a new showroom in New York. They will also be ramping up their progressive vision with state-of-the-art technology, high-definition videoconferencing and environment friendly cloud-type computing with mobile tablet devices.
"As we step into the next decade, we look forward to a new progressive vision, which includes more growth like our recent acquisitions of Dotti Cover-ups and the swimwear license for Maidenform, as well as in the technology arena," Fan said.
