The two-part finale will be titled “Last Forever.” Thomas tweeted a photo of the first page of the script and revealed that it’s 95 pages long!

The finale was partially shot in 2006!

"We have not changed the very end of series at all," Thomas revealed in a Reddit AMA. "In fact, we shot part of it back in 2006, before Ted's kids got much older! We just looked at that footage, which will factor into the end of the series -- it totally worked and was kind of haunting to watch! Shot 8 years ago and it will now help end our series on March 31st, 2014!

Thomas also tweeted an early draft of the finale. The first scene opens in “Int. Train Platform – Day.” We’ll see if they kept that detail!

Bob Saget (who narrates Future Ted) may make an appearance in the finale, the creators hinted. “Stay tuned,” co-creator Carter Bays said.

“One of the last scenes” will be set in MacLaren’s.

"Murder Train" will be the last song on the series ("I'm pretty sure," said Thomas).

“These last few eps will wrap up A LOT of loose ends!” Thomas promised.

The last episode will catch us up to present day.

"In one episode, we're going to see 17 years in the lives of all our characters,” Thomas said.

“We're going to catch the audience back up to the year 2030, when the story is being told by future Ted to his kids. It's a very big, ambitious hour. The big important things that will happen, a lot of those have remained true to our idea of how to finish the series that we've had basically since the pilot."

The episode was inspired by the “Cheers” finale.

“Watched the #Cheers series finale again for inspiration; cried as hard as I did in 1993. A reminder why we do what we do. #HIMYM,” Thomas tweeted.
