Jenna Talackova, a transgender beauty pageant, was disqualified by The Miss Universe Canada.

After reaching the finals in the Miss Vancouver pageant, Talackova was kicked out as the organizers argued that she was not a "naturally born female" as claimed in her registration.

The 23-year old admitted that she began hormone treatment at 14 and sex change surgery at 19.

"She feels like a real girl and she is a real girl. She didn’t expect people to question it," Denis Davila, the national director of Miss Universe Canada, told thestar.com.
"She was hoping we could put her back in the competition, but the rules are very clear and there’s no way we can go back on it."

While Talackova considered this incident as a human rights issue, the Pageant regards it as the failure to meet the requirements.
"We do, however, respect her goals, determination and wish her the best," said the Donald Trump-owned Miss Universe Canada in a statement.

Talackova told the Vancouver Sun that she won't release a statement until next week after talks to her lawyer.
