While "Scandal's" season three return is slated to focus heavily on Fitz's presidential re-election campaign, the premier episode features so many twists and turns, viewers can hardly expect that to be the main focus. Finally, the first sneak peek of episode 11 has been released showing Olivia Pope and Mellie meeting up for lunch, International Business Times reported. In the scene the two give each other fake smiles as they are bombarded by paparazzi. And while the luncheon seems to be all smiles and giggles, viewers can't expect a meeting between the First Lady of the United States and the President's mistress to be all peaches and cream.

"What are we doing here?" Olivia asks

"We're sharing a meal, being gal pals, braiding each other's hair, talking about boys," Mellie responds. "I'm making a respectable woman out of you Olivia."

Knowing Mellie, we wouldn't be surprised if this charade is just an another attempt to get Olivia to join Fitz's campaign, however things start to go sour at their lunch date when Mellie brings up Olivia's mother, who we found out was a big time terrorist in the midesason finale.

If Olivia does decide to rejoin Fitz's campaign, this may make the idea of Mellie getting a new love interest easier to digest. Clearly she won't be able to spend so much time monitoring what the President is doing behind closed doors if she's busy getting it on behind her own, but Mellie's new beau may not be such a good thing when it comes to getting Fitzgerald back in the white house for a second term.

"[He'll] throw a wrench in the works in the very best of ways," Bellamy Young, who plays Mellie on the show, said of her rumored new lover in an interview with TV Guide.

Meanwhile, now that Leo knows that Vice President Sally Langston killed her husband, Daniel Douglas, he may try to convince her to move forward with campaigning against Fitz, hence episode eleven's title, "Ride Sally Ride."

However,  Attorney General David Rosen has Sally's voice recording revealing she murdered her husband, and Sally just may be off the ballot for good if David is actually able to pin Daniel's death on the VP.

We're still weeks away from the midseason return of Scandal and we can hardly wait to find out what happens!

Check out the sneak peek of episode 11 below and be sure to catch the midseason premiere of "Scandal" on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. on ABC!
