Looks like the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be joining Bruno Mars onstage at this year's Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show!

According to Entertainment Weekly, the announcement about the rock band performing was broadcast during the NFC divisional playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, Jan. 11.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are already slated to be in New Jersey during the time of the Super Bowl festivities and will be performing at a pre-Super Bowl event being held at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Feb. 1.

No word yet if Red Hot Chili Peppers will be replacing Mars' band or will perform their own set before of after the "Guerilla" singer.

Mars' performance comes after a long list of A-List entertainers like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, and though Mars is following behind some heavy-hitting musicians, it's the cold winter weather in New Jersey he's more concerned about.

"Everyone's putting the fear in God in me like there's going to be a blizzard," the 28-year-old singer said in an interview, JustJarad reported. "I know it's going to be cold and I just got to face it."

"I'm going to wear a beekeeper suit, even if I have to build a chimney on stage, perform around a fire, I'll do it," Mars went on to say.

Regardless of the weather, we know a Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers performance are the perfect ingredients to heat up the football field, as well as score some great halftime ratings.

Mars has a heavy following and was recently named Billboard's 2013 Artist of the Year after selling more than 130 million singles worldwide. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been considered rock gods since the broke onto the scene in the 90's and were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012.

We're sure these guys won't have any problem pulling in a big audience at half time!

Super Bowl XLVIII airs on Feb. 2 on Fox.
