While many fans are waiting for Salman Khan’s new movie, “Jai Ho” to be released, people are wondering if it will be just as successful as Shahrukh Khan’s “Chennai Express” or Aamir Khan’s “Dhoom 3.” While the “Dabangg” actor gets ready for his first release of 2014, he explains that he doesn’t believe in breaking box office records and only hopes it does well.

“I just don’t want my films to flop because that would mean my thinking is going wrong and that would be the worst thing,” said Salman to IBN Live. “I don’t care about the Rs 200-300 (crore club). I don’t want to be a part of this number game. I am there (in that bracket) but it is not like I want to break that record. I want to make a good film. As long as my films run and make decent money, I am happy.”

The 48-year-old expressed that he prefers to act in “over the top” movies.

“Now you call it ‘bakwaas’ (mindless) cinema or whatever but that is the kind of cinema I want to do because that is the kind of cinema I have seen. As a kid I have gone to theaters, stood on chair, whistled for the heros,” said Salman. “Movies should be such that if a hero has fallen down the audience should feel the urge to scream and say, ‘get up.’ You come out of the theatre...you want to be the hero. That is the feeling you should get.”

“Jai Ho’s” movie poster previously released hinting at a story based on people’s movement, which is why it says, “People’s Man” at the top of the picture. Salman plays a social crusader in the film which also stars Tabu, Daisy Shah and Om Puri in leading roles.

“Monish Behl plays the chief minister,” said a source. “At the climax, Salman has to save the CM’s life to save the state from catastrophe, it’s a very patriotic film.”

“Gran Mati’s” Bruna Abdullah has been added to the cast after a role was especially created for her opposite cast member Ashmit Patel.

The Sohail Khan directed film which also features Suniel Shetty, Danny Denzongpa and others, is expected to release on Jan. 24.
