New photos emerged for "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" as Michael Bay dishes on the cast and plot of the 2014 movie and a new teaser first look hints about a trailer coming soon.
The new photos from the highly anticipated "Transformers 4" movie shows the new exciting look of Optimus Prime as well as Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, and Nicola Peltz in action. Check them out in the slideshow!
"Our favorite photo, by far, has to be Bay terrorizing Peltz with what appears to be a green screen-friendly foam claw, meant to be replaced later by CG animation. It's just the kind of thing you picture him doing behind the scenes," ScreenCrush said.
So what else has been happening on set? Well, definitely no "goofiness!"
"I wanted the first Transformers to be very suburban and less cool," director Michael Bay told Yahoo. "This is a much more cinematic one. I focused on keeping this one slick. There won't be any goofiness in this one. We went a bit too goofy [on the last one]."
Bay also dished that he doesn't quite like the term "reboot."
"It feels like a new chapter, this movie," he said. "But it's not a reboot. This movie lives in the history of the 'Transformers' movies, and this one starts three years after the last. It feels fresh."
Yahoo dished on some other things seen on set:
Wahlberg plays a wacky inventor - think Doc Brown, but with firmer abs - and overprotective father to Nicola Peltz's Tessa. We watch as he discovers a Transformer and gets drawn into a conflict that has taken its toll on Earth - a sign saying 'Remember Chicago' hints at the destruction at the end of the last film. And then we see Wahlberg get distracted by the arrival of his daughter's race driver boyfriend, played by Jack Reynor.
According to Tformers.com, "Transformers 4" will be the very first movie to film using IMAX's new 3D digital camera, which will allow 3D capture in IMAX. Sounds super exciting!
Speaking of exciting, a new "first look" YouTube from Flix Movies shows behind-the-scenes footage from filming. It also talks about how the teaser poster and movie title hints that we will all see dinobots in the film as well.
"Transformers: Age of Extinction" also stars Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, T.J. Miller. It releases in theaters on June 27, 2014.
