One of Bollywood’s most anticipated movies of this year has finally released and “Ram Leela” has received two thumbs-up so far from critics. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s strong love chemistry in the film has drawn in large crowds and kept cash registers ringing at the box office.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film has come across as an uncanny piece of art based on William Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet.” Zee News describes “Ram Leela” as a “rustic love story woven with a string of bullets.”

Ram, played by Ranveer Singh, hails from the Rajadi clan which deals in producing gun and bullets and are known for firing guns for every small issue. The group have a 500 year old enmity with a wealthy and powerful Saneda clan, however, when Ram attempts to put the feud behind, he comes across Leela (Deepika Padukone) creating an eternal bond.

While the movie opens with a Gujarati folk number, critics say that although the film was good, it could have been better, however, the visuals are “indeed a treat to the eyes,” making “Ram Leela” as Singh and Padukone’s most finest performances of their careers.

The music composed by the filmmaker himself and Monty Sharma is upbeat and refreshing. “Tattad Tattad," “Lahu Muh Lag Gaya," “Ishikyau Dishkuau," “Nagada Sang Dhol Baaje” are good, however, “Ram Chahe Leela,” featuring Priyanka Chopra, is a foot-tapping number with an unusual mix of tradition and modernity.

In “Nagada Sang Dhol,” Padukone shows off her traditional dancing skills in the garba influenced video as she is dressed in a red ghaghra-choli outfit.

Ranveer Singh also makes an appearance in the video dressed in traditional attire and with him we can see a veteran actress Supriya Pathak. “Nagada Sang Dhol” is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and composed by Bhansali himself and has been written by Siddharth Garima.

“Ram Leela” released on November 15, so if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check out the romantic drama in a theater near you.
